
BOB WEAVER WAS BORN JANUARY 23, 1938 IN PITTSBURGH, PA WEIGHING 7 LBS 9 OZ. HE NOW STANDS ABOUT 5'10" & WEIGHS 260 POUNDS. HE SWAM AND PLAYED FOOTBALL IN HIGH SCHOOL, WINNING STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS IN SWIMMING COMPETITIONS.
AT 22 YEARS OLD HE BEGAN BODYBUILDING AND IN 1964 DECIDED TO GO INTO POWERLIFTING AND LEAVE THE SCULPTING BEHIND. HE STARTED AT A WEIGHT OF 198 LBS. HIS BEST LIFTS WERE A 250 LB SQUAT, 250 LB BENCH, AND A 400 LB DEADLIFT.
ONE YEAR LATER AT A BODYWEIGHT OF 305 LBS, HIS LIFTS HAD INCREASED TO AN AMAZING 750 LB SQUAT, 500 LB BENCH, AND A 700 LB DEADLIFT. HE WON ALL THE LOCAL COMPETITIONS AND THE OPEN CLASS AT THE COLLEGIATE NATIONALS AT MARYLAND UNIVERSITY.
ONE YEAR LATER HE TOOK SECOND PLACE AT THE JUNIOR NATIONALS. SHORTLY AFTER THAT, HAVING INCREASED HIS BODYWEIGHT TO 365 LBS, HE WON THE SENIOR NATIONALS WITH LIFTS OF 500 LB BENCH, 790 LB SQUAT, AND A 650 LB DEADLIFT. HE WENT ON TO SET THE WORLD RECORD OF AN AGGREGATE 2,040 LBS IN 1967. THIS WAS A BENCH OF 505 LB, SQUAT OF 800 LB AND A 735 LB DEADLIFT.
